The Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga offer financial support for Outdoor Chattanooga programs and activities by purchasing equipment through donations and grants.
The Outdoor Chattanooga Mobile Bicycle Fleet
In 2008, FOC purchased a fleet of 8-speed cruiser bicycles, a van and a trailer for use with Outdoor Chattanooga’s free bicycling programs.
Since then, the Outdoor Chattanooga Mobile Bicycle Fleet has served thousands of residents and visitors through City of Chattanooga funded programs that include:
Chickamauga Battlefield Bicycle Tours
Moccasin Bend Bicycle Tours
Bike to Lunch
Street Smarts Safe Cycling Class
Older Adult Rides
Adaptive Cycling Program
The Mobile Bicycle Fleet was a Tennessee Department of Transportation funded project in partnership with CARTA under the Commuter Transportation Assistance Program.
Downtown Kayaking Program Fleet
In 2009, the City of Chattanooga tasked Outdoor Chattanooga with designing a program that would encourage visitors and residents to explore downtown Chattanooga by paddle craft on the Tennessee River.
Since that time, hundreds of visitors to Chattanooga have participated in the downtown tours and other introductory flat water kayaking programs.
The downtown kayak fleet was purchased through a grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga.
